7 Hairstyles for a Fresh Look in November

Seasonal shifts bring some of the most intense “fresh start” energy, and sometimes those little changes begin with a new approach to how you style your hair. If that’s the vibe you’re going for this autumn, then switching up your current hairstyle—even if only a little—is a no-brainer. For some proper inspo, we spoke with pro stylists about the trendiest November hairstyles seen everywhere from the sidewalk to the red carpet.

The bob lobbyists have really done some hard work this year. This cropped style has been trending for months, and it’s only bound to get more prominent through the cold season, says Nicole Roja, stylist at Pearlita Salon. From Hailey Bieber to Selena Gomez to Zendaya, so many are trading in long strands for a glossy, bouncy bob. It’s definitely the “it girl” haircut of November.

If you’re craving a more dramatic chop (but still don’t want to go full pixie), then the bixie is the perfect middle ground. “The bixie is a short cut that blends the shape of a bob with the softness of a pixie. It’s cropped around the nape and ears but keeps a little length through the top so it still feels feminine and easy to style,” explains celebrity hairstylist Jeremy Pugh. He says you can wear it smooth and tucked behind the ears, or add some texture and volume.

Those who prefer to keep (or add) length should lean into this popular November hairstyle, which is all about length, volume, and softness. “This style captures full, voluminous waves with soft bends and glossy movement,” says celebrity stylist Antonio Velotta. For this look, it really comes down to styling. “It combines a bouncy round-brush blowout with a few large-barrel curls brushed out for that ‘undone glamour.'”

Waffling on fringe? Consider this your sign to officially go for it à la some trendy, gorgeous halo fringe. “These bangs are a hybrid between curtain and blunt bangs that wrap softly around the face,” notes Nick Stenson, celebrity stylist. “They frame your features. I love that this look is great for autumn as it complements all those cozy layered looks and seasonal textures.”

A chin-length blunt bob with a center part and glass-like shine is another short style trending this November. “The precision cut keeps it modern, while subtle inward movement at the ends gives it softness and flow,” Velotta says. “The sleekness goes beautifully with coats and scarves. It’s minimal, low-maintenance, and transitions effortlessly from daytime errands to evening events.”

Modern Shag

With a surge in retro styles lately, we’re seeing more of this updated take on the textured shag. “This style is incredibly versatile and features shorter, choppy layers on top and around the face, with slightly longer lengths in the back to create natural movement, dimension, and an edgy vibe,” Stenson says. “Because it’s layered, the textured shape adds volume and dimension, keeping hair full and dynamic under heavier jackets and seasonal accessories.”

Layers and Curtain Bangs

While short styles are having a moment, long strands are perfect for the chilly months and remain a trendy look, as well. “Long layers—especially with curtain bangs—are all about movement and softness,” Pugh says. “The layers add body and dimension while the curtain bangs frame your face and blend seamlessly into the rest of your hair. It gives that effortless blowout vibe everybody is obsessed with right now.”
